Fighting Aging with Help of Stair Climbing
There are many different relaxed ways of spending your leisure time and some of them might even include physical exercises, such as walking for example. However, if you want to spend your time a little bit more active and still do not want to spend hours in a gym sweating and suffering, then you should try some nice effective alternative to walking. In our hectic urban world, there is a nice new type of climbing: stair climbing. This exercise helps to have fun and at the same time easily brings you into good shape, tightening your abs and improving leg muscles. Besides, stair climbing is considered to be one of the most essential cardiovascular exercises.
Stair climbing is one of the most popularized exercised for those who want to shed a couple of pounds very fast. There are so many movie characters that use stair climbing in order to get fit and in most cases they manage, of course. Like Rocky or some other movie protagonists who saw stairs in front of them and each of these stairs led to their success. Stair climbing can be easily explained. Climbing up, you are pushing all the muscles of your body up and thus making them work as they usually do not. It is difficult to do for the first time and that is why many people are advised to do some stair climbing before going climbing or hiking in order to make the muscles acquainted with hard vertical lift.
Some people might complain that it is difficult to find stairs, especially if they live in a private house or cottage. But there is no good excuse that can prevent you from stair climbing. If you live close to nature and especially close to mountains then you can simply start climbing there. In case there are no mountains or steep hills around, you can always use such a wonderful invention as mini Mount Everest. This is a very challenging thing that will make you sweat and will help you to get fit in a couple of workouts. It is difficult to start fast in the beginning that is why it is better if you could start slowly and then speed up from one workout to another. Raise up levels slowly.
Besides, do not forget to split your time devoted to stairs. It is so much better when you have separate short sessions of exercises instead of dying to finish one long one. The body can easily burn fat and build up new muscles when the periods of exercise are shorter and then there is a short pause in between. During such a pause, most of the muscle tissue is being created, so the more the pauses, the better. It is recommended to have three short blocks of exercises, or four is even better.
Do not forget about coming down the stairs! Some people think, and not without a reason, that walking or climbing down is always so much more difficult than climbing up. Then you have always to remember about it and to accumulate your powers so that you have enough for coming back in case there are no lifts in the building or you are not working out on mini Mountain Everest. In case you decide to take an elevator, you should not stop, because such a rhythm might be too much for your heart. Continue to move at least a little and not to change the heart rhythm abruptly.
There are some important and effective points that can help all stair-climbers:
- Do not forget about special shoes that will definitely make your life and the life of your feet easier.
- Remember about warming up before starting a workout not to shock your body muscles and about stretching after for the same reason.
- Pay attention to your climbing position. You should always remember that it is more comfortable, healthier and better to do stair climbing, leaning a little bit forward and keeping the knees soft.
- Try to do climbing with short pauses that will make your body work harder and easier to handle.
- Do not forget that climbing, as any other exercise, makes you sweat and you lose a lot of water, so you need to drink a lot in small sips after the workout.
Stair climbing is a very effective workout. If you continue to do workouts that includes stair climbing for at least half an hours a day, it can lead you to beautiful figure very soon.
