The truth about anti-aging wrinkle cream

facial-for-anti-agingWhen we think of aging and how it affects our bodies, most of us think of dry wrinkled and sagging skin. Skin makes up our exterior and is the first thing that people notice when meeting others for the first time. A soft supple young skin gives us an increased chance of being noticed by the other sex. Facial creams of all descriptions are in popular demand and are a big business, with cosmetics companies raking in billions of dollars a year from mainly middle aged women looking for the fountain of youth.

So how affective are these anti wrinkle creams? A well-known news provider decided to run an experiment to answer this very same question. They set out by finding six women in there 40’s and gave them a selection of commercial anti aging creams. The products were chosen for there popularity and ranged in price from one hundred and fifty dollars, all the way down to twenty dollars.

The results were interesting, as all but 3 of the happy volunteers returned comments of positive changes to their skin. During the month long study all women used there chosen creams on a daily basis and mention that they were constantly given good comments about their improved appearance. One participant was told that her face was glowing; another said that people would tell her that she looked younger than her actual age. Whatever the physical effects of the creams, all women say that there was definitely some positive change in their daily attitudes.

facial-creamDavid Dunne, a well-known professor of marketing in Toronto comments that it doesn’t matter whether the cream actually works or not the positive effects start from the inside. That is not to say that all anti aging creams are a scam, creams contain high levels of moisturizer, which is always going to have a good effect on the skin. By using these products a lot of women feel more confident; they believe they look better and younger. When you feel happier everything seems easier and people tend to treat you with more warmth.

So why this need to look young again, when we know that after a certain age the clock hands really are stuck. It could be the result of advertising over use of perfectly shaped young models in the media. Perhaps it’s the changes in our social organization, with so many late divorces a lot of middle-aged women have found themselves back on the tough singles market. Whatever the reason, more women than men find themselves yearning for those long lost years of tight soft skin.

With several different creams on the market today finding an effective one may take time and several hundreds of dollars. Anti wrinkle creams take time to work so don’t expect a quick fix, patience and regular use should work.
