Can chickens really teach us how to live longer?

chickenHow long does a chicken live? 2 year, 3 years? They actually live a maximum of five years before passing away. Though amazingly, Nobel prize winner Alexis Carrel was able to keep the cells of one lucky chicken alive for 34 years, that’s nearly 6 times longer than its average life expectancy. Alexis had devised a theory that cells could be kept alive for an infinite amount of time, as long as they are stored in the right conditions. So how was he able to keep these cells alive so long? His method was very simple; through out the duration of the study the chicken cells were left in a container of fresh mineral water. Every two days Alexis exchanged the water in the container with a fresh batch, ensuring that the cells were receiving constant doses of nutrients. Unfortunately, he never got to see the final results of his experiment or how much it has inspired other scientists in his field; Alexis Carrel died 2 years before the end of this study.

This experiment showed us that cells could thrive for extended periods of time as long as they received a good level of essential nutrients and are kept in a clean state. So, for those of us looking to achieve longer life spans then keeping our blood clean is a viable way to achieve this goal. Unfortunately for most of use, our lifestyles don’t allow for this, we eat an abundance of foods with chemical by products in them and enjoy the material pleasures of life. The knowledge gained from Alexis’s experiment has aided in the development of system cleansing treatments, such as colon cleanses and full body detox systems.

Most of us have backed up colons and are not yet aware of it; this is the most common condition and one that leads to a build up of excess waste in our bodies. A survey was done at the national college of Chicago looking at how many people had unclean bowels. Whilst performing autopsies, medical students recorded the number of bodies that had a substantial build up of waste. The numbers showed that out of a group of 300 bodies, 285 had large excess deposits.

So what is the big deal about having clogged up bowels? This condition is so common and people aren’t dropping dead from having a bout of constipation? Studies have shown that unclean bowels can affect the other cells in our bodies. When waste fills to your colons limit, they then start to leak out into other areas of your body and filth is absorbed into your cells and blood. As mentioned before a colon cleanse is a good solution to this problem, if you under go this treatment you may be surprised by the amount of waste that your bowls can store. During one study they tested for a number of toxins in the blood of someone with constant constipation problems and found hundreds of varieties.

There is some doubt as to whether many of the common diseases such as heart disease, cancer and kidney disease are actually caused by old age. Scientists believe that these diseases may actually be a result of high levels of toxins in the blood. There is a sudden increase in young children developing these diseases, this could be good indicator that it is not age that is causing these conditions, but toxins from our environment and living conditions.
